Stage Dreaming

“I found that most graduates who left the Hall years ago are leading monotonous lives,” said Will Leung, producer and director of Leetle Stage (LEE台戲), a drama group formed by alumni and current residents of Simon K.Y Lee Hall in 2015.

Back when he was resident at the Hall, drama enthusiasts won several awards at the Inter-Hall Drama Competition, but they wanted new challenges. “Loke Yew Hall is a nice place to perform, but our ambition is to give a public performance outside of HKU.” This was why Leetle Stage (LEE台戲) was formed and its members made their public debut on December 17 and 18, 2015 at Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre.

Their first production When You Go To Haking Wong “黃克競有落” is a drama commemorating the 30th anniversary of Simon K. Y. Lee Hall. In the play, five alumni of Simon K. Y. Lee Hall who graduated 10 years previously find their way back to the Hall because of various reasons. They struggle between reality and dream. “Some lines expressed our inner feelings of this struggle,” said Will.

As most of the crewmembers do not have any experience of public performances, the preparation took more than a year. “I would say the process is full of ups and downs, but it was worth it. Many alumni reconnected through the drama.”

“People may not really forget their dreams; that’s just life. What we do is to awaken them to their dreams they once had and to remind them that they are still capable of achieving what they want.”

After its successful debut, ‘Leetle Stage’ is planning the next production. “I am so lucky to have many drama-loving companions. I hope Leetle Stage can be a stage for them to accomplish their dreams.”

又一個三年。

剛住進LEE HALL，我就加入國賢戲劇。有幸擔演過宅男和細路，後來更當上隊長，成為導演，一嚐叫「actors ready」的滋味，通宵排戲，最後在戲劇比賽中奪旗。匆匆三年，圓一個夢，大學生涯，無悔無憾。

畢業後踏入社會，每天努力工作。幸好工作穩定，毋須為三餐煩惱，但生活總欠缺了衝勁。百無聊賴之際回想起大學生活的片段，決定要大搞一場，重拾戲劇的感覺。要在這三年圓另一個夢，此生無憾。

下一個三年，又會有甚麼的夢？
