It is my pleasure and honor to announce the establishment of the HKU Master of Statistics Alumni Association.

We are a conglomeration of peoples with diversity of background and excellence on our own fields. The force of bringing us together is not out of thin air. Owning to the distinctive brand name, omnipotent professors and staffs, innovative teaching programs, and interesting colleagues, most of us enjoyed very much throughout our study of MStat program (previously known as MSocSc(Applied Statistics)) in the Department of Statistics & Actuarial Science, HKU. We have the dream to extend the link with those wonderful colleagues, teachers and the department, be it academic or social. The HKU Master of Statistics Alumni Association is trying to make our dream come true.  

In order to fulfill our objectives, we are going to have our first gathering in November 2010. We also plan to have different activities in the coming year, including newsletter publication, professional talks, staff-alumni reunion, picnics and other social gatherings, just to name a few. Currently we have a group of enthusiastic and voluble committee members who work generously for the group, but after all, your support is the soul of success. Please join us and extend the department’s legacy by nurturing our newly formed association.
