
I graduated in 1990 from faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and joined the Department of Medicine, Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 1992. I went to Manchester for my overseas training in glucocorticoid axis between 1996 and 1997, and obtained the fellowship in both Endocrinology and Advance Internal Medicine by 1998. After 1998, in addition to participating in continuous medical education programmes, I further equipped myself with continuous education in many other areas, attending courses in Chinese medicine, statistics, linguistics and management. I obtained the master degree in Statistics from the University of Hong Kong in 2006, was among the first batch of graduates from the Hospital Authority Leadership Pipeline (HALP) accelerate development program, and I am currently studying for the Master of Arts in English for Professions in Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a course which seeks to enhance its students’ understanding and skills on communication within organizations.
Besides different appointments on medical services and training in my workplace, I am also the member of Hospital Authority Kowloon Central Cluster research committee, chairman of the HKU Master of Statistic Alumni Association, honorary secretary of the Hong Kong Society of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Reproduction, vice-chairman of the Hong Kong Medical Association Choir, honorary choirmaster of the Hong Kong City Choir and Hong Kong City Youth Choir and member of the Hospital Authority Traditional Chinese Medicine quality control committee.
